Leadership Public Schools are a 3 campus charter school with locations in Hayward, Richmond and Oakland. We were summoned to overhaul their old website entirely, and hand off management capabilities to various staff members tasked with keeping the site up to date.
Each of the 3 sites looks and functions similarly, but with content specific to that campus, and colors branded to that school. The Hayward campus uses a forest green color as their color, so the Hayward school website features this color as an accent color.
The site utilizes WordPress multisite, and each campus has it’s own independently run site on the network, managed by onsite staff. WordPress Multisite is a fickle beast, and we were able to make the most of it to get the necessary people access to edit what they need to edit.
Internal staff are able to add news and updates to the homepage, make changes and additions to staff bios, and post information regarding upcoming meetings, financials, etc. and more that they are required legally to post. As staff comes and goes, we frequently train new staff on how to edit the site, which keeps management costs low.
Since the site targets a diverse community, we were able to add Google Translate which allows non-English speakers the ability to toggle the site to their language.
For staffing, Leadership Public Schools uses JazzHR, and we were able to embed their job listing widget to display open jobs at each of the campuses.
